Terms of Service

  1. Introduction
    Welcome to Snapshot Memories. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our digitisation services. By engaging with our services, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

  2. Services Provided
    Snapshot Memories offers photo scanning and related services, including digital enhancement, framing, and return of goods.

  3. User Responsibilities
    You are responsible for ensuring that all media provided for digitisation are owned by you or that you have the necessary permissions to use them. You must not submit any material that is illegal, offensive, or violates the rights of third parties. By submitting materials, you consent to their digitisation, temporary storage, and handling as per these Terms.

  4. Payment
    Our pricing structure is outlined on our website and in your order confirmation. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD). Payment is required as per the terms indicated on your invoice. We accept cash, bank transfers, and card payments via Stripe.

  5. Shipping and Handling
    You are responsible for securely packaging your photos and video tapes for delivery to us. We recommend using a trackable and insured shipping method. Snapshot Memories is not liable for any loss or damage that occurs during transit to or from our facility. Upon completion of our services, we will return your photos using the agreed method. For customers local to Melbourne, we do accept in-person drop-off and pick-up with prior agreement.

  6. Turnaround Time
    We strive to complete your order within the estimated time frame provided at the time of order confirmation. However, turnaround times may vary based on the volume of work and specific requirements of your order. We will communicate any delays promptly.

  7. Refunds and Cancellations
    If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. If the cancellation is made before we begin processing your order, a full refund will be provided. If the work has already commenced, a partial refund may be offered based on the work completed. Refunds are not available once the order has been fully completed and delivered. You will be responsible for the cost of return postage whether the job has been completed or not.

  8. Service Offerings and Pricing

    • Photo Scans
      - The total number of photos to be scanned will determine the pricing tier applied to all photos.
      - All Optional Extras will be charged per individual photo in addition to the base scanning rate.
      - Photos must not be larger than 21cm x 29cm.
      - Loose photos must be clean and free from cardboard frames, Blu Tack, adhesive residue, and other attachments.
      - Non-loose photos, Polaroids, or photos needing to be removed from an album will be scanned with an applicable handling fee.

    • Album scans - loose leaf
      We are able to remove and replace photos placed in loose leaf albums as per the applicable fee.

    • Album scans - self adhesive
      We will attempt to remove and scan photos in self adhesive albums. If they’re unable to be removed we may scan in place.

    • Polaroid scans
      All standard Polaroid and Instax photos are able to be scanned.

    • Other photo scans
      Any non-loose, framed, or photos stuck in albums may be able to be scanned, inquire for pricing.

    • USB Stick
      If you opt for a USB Stick, the brand, type, size, and price of the USB stick may vary depending on availability and order requirements.

    • Download Links
      If you opt for download links, you will be provided with links to download your photos from cloud. Digital media will be available for download for 6 months from job completion after which the files may be deleted. You are responsible for storage of your digital media once downloaded.

    • Photo Enhancement
      If you have opted for photo enhancement, Snapshot Memories will apply basic enhancements to photos, which may include:
      - Overall colour correction
      - Red-eye removal
      - Removal of minor tears and creases
      - Additional cropping to improve photo composition
      - Other basic enhancements as applicable
      These are manual enhancements applied only where appropriate. This does not include extensive digital repairs or alterations to the subjects of the photos. While we apply care and skill in all enhancements, we cannot guarantee perfect or specific results due to the quality and condition of original materials. By opting for enhancements, you acknowledge and accept that results may vary.

    • Scan and Frame Package
      Our Scan and Frame Package includes:
      - High-resolution scanning of your original photo (standard size up to 21cm x 29cm).
      - Basic enhancement of the scanned image (see Photo Enhancement section for details).
      - Professionally printed copy of the enhanced image.
      - Framing of the printed photo in a standard frame (frame style and size to be confirmed at time of order).
      - Return of both the original photo and the framed print.
      Framing Details:
       Frames are selected from a curated range and may vary based on availability. You may choose from available options at the time of order. If no preference is specified, we will select the most appropriate frame style.
      Limitations:
      -       Only one photo per Scan and Frame Package. Multiple photos will be charged individually.
      - Frame sizes are based on standard photo dimensions.

    • Return shipping
      - The cost of the return shipping will be charged back in your final invoice. Reasonable costs for additional packaging materials may be applied.
      - Snapshot Memories will use appropriate packaging to minimise the risk of damage in transit.
      - We do accept in-person drop-off and pick-up by prior arrangement, in which case no shipping fee will apply.

    • Photo storage
      Snapshot memories will hold a digital copy of your digital media on cloud storage based in Australia for six months after job completion. After six months, we may permanently delete our copy of your digital media.

    • Minimum Order
      A collective minimum order size of $49 applies to all orders.

  9. Quality Assurance
    We aim to provide the highest quality service. If you are not satisfied with the quality of our work, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your digital files. We will work with you to resolve any issues.

  10. Liability
    While we take utmost care in handling your photographs, Snapshot Memories is not liable for any loss or damage to them, either in transit or while in our possession. Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided.

  11. Privacy
    Your privacy is important to us. We collect and use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share your photos or personal details with third parties without your explicit consent.

  12. Intellectual Property
    All digital copies and enhancements produced by Snapshot Memories remain your property. We do not claim any ownership rights over the content provided by you.

  13. Changes to Terms
    We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately. Your continued use of our services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

  14. Governing Law
    These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
